New York City, New York
New York City consists of five different boroughs that offers very different cultures in each of its islands. The five boroughs are named Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. From finance and technology to food and entertainment, NYC presents a wide range of activities for everyone involved.
NYC can trace its origin back to 1624 when Dutch colonists came over into what was then called New Amsterdam. This particular settlement officially became New Amsterdam in 1626 and became an official city in 1653. The named changed from New Amsterdam to New York in November of 1674. New York City was the capital of the United States from 1785 to 1790.
My favorite activity when visiting this historical city is taking my camera and walking the streets, capturing every walk of life. I usually go to my favorite bakery and buy a couple of big chocolate chips cookies and a coke and head towards Central Park with my camera and hang out on a bench as the people walk by.
With NYC having so much history, I take advantage of learning as much as I can every time I visit by going to a museum, going to the different districts in each of the five boroughs, trying the different food that is offered when walking the streets, and listening to all the different music being played in Central Park.
